Description
The Silky Tsurugi range features a very narrow blade which is ideal for pruning dense trees and enables the user to get into tight areas such as the fork of a branch. This lightweight saw offers performance usually reserved for saws 2-3 times larger. Silky’s engineers have created a narrow-blade saw that allows precise pruning without compromising performance. Without affecting nearby limbs, you can easily prune in narrow spaces & thick foliage, making it perfect for taking out compression forks.
Due to Silky’s renowned design skills, there is no compromise to either the strength of the blade or its cutting ability. Its Genki revolver handle has no bolts or screws, and consists of just two rubber parts perfectly encasing the steel.
Tsurugi’s aluminium holster can be attached to a belt and there are slots for leg straps. It’s been carefully engineered to stop the saw from falling out accidentally, yet allow the saw to be withdrawn quickly, one-handedly. This lightweight holster can be used by both right-handed and left-handed people. 4 rollers prevent the sharp teeth from damaging the scabbard. Moisture and sawdust can escape through the perforation on the bottom of the holder.
Technical Specifications
- High-alloy steel
- Teeth: 8 teeth per 30 mm
- Kerf: 1.5 mm
- Blade length: 300m
The blade must be kept clean to maintain its efficiency. The resin dissolves in olive oil, which is an effective and environmentally friendly way to maintain the blade with. More aggressive liquids can damage the rubber material of the handle.
When not using the saw, make sure it is dry at all times. Store the saw in its scabbard in a dry place.

Silky Saws Care Guide
- Silky saws are designed to cut on the pull stroke. The thin blades will not bow because they are under tension while being pulled across the surface to be cut. If saw ever becomes caught in a branch squeeze. DO NOT PUSH HARD and NEVER WRENCH THE HANDLE. These actions may damage the blade. Always lift the weight off the blade to release the saw.
- Silky’s precision engineering results in a fine kerf, very little force is needed to saw. So do not use muscle to speed up your sawing. LET THE SAW DO THE WORK for you while you pull it across the wood.
- Impulse hardened blades cannot be re-sharpened by a hand file.
- Keep your blades clean by using solvent. Keep the solvent away from the handle.
- When not in use, store the saw in a protective sheath and away from moisture.
- Silky is not responsible for any damage resulting from the misuse of Silky saws.
